CRT > LCD. shadow mask > aperture grille. Eizo 0.21mm > absolutely everything. Like this is even worth a discussion anymore. The real question should be, is there anything better than a 0.21mm Eizo? (Not counting that 0.20mm eizo, I'm starting to give up hope of ever finding one...)

Take the whole thing apart, clean spindle and sleeve with brake cleaner or similar, then fill it right up with thick grease, and reassemble. Either silicone grease (can recommend Servisol) or the standard yellow bearing grease should do. Or molykote maybe.

Festo = pneumatic contol equipment. With the parallel ADC I'm guessing it's for a position sensor or something.
