If you want to play dos games from 1992-1996 it really doesn't matter, almost any videocard will be enough (if it has a decent amount of VRAM). There are only a few dos games that use 3d acceleration, almost all use glide api, so you won't be able to run them, but the normal version will run …

OK, great choice. But here's a much better one: find some junk, a bad motherboard or videocard, you should be able to find those things very cheap or even free. Learn to properly solder on that junk, then do it on stuff that you use/care.

Check the fans on the V5 5500, do they spin normally? I think that V5 might overheat, Unreal in glide mode will stress the card much more than other games.

It's got a 120mm fan above it pulling air out. My 350MHz has a fan on top of the heatsink but it's not very big/strong. Can't imagine it makes that much difference. Install the fan to push air.
