A memsize of 64 is not the default for DOSBox, so (unless you upped it to 64 after that post), the correct (modified) configuration that you used should have been listed as: memsize=64 core=normal cycles=12000 ems=true xms=true umb=true And given that information, my advise would have been different …

I am afraid that you will have to do a lot of experimenting 🙁 Try changing core=auto to core=normal, and then test. If that doesn't work, try changing cycles=10000. If that doesn't work, try configuring the game with no sound (no SoundBlaster, no Gravis, no MIDI).

In the folder where you installed DOSBox (%ProgramFiles%\DOSBox-0.72) there should be a file named dosbox.conf . Create a copy of the original dosbox.conf, then open dosbox.conf with Notepad. You should see a place where it says output=surface Change it to one of the listed values, e.g. opengl , …

Error trap? I dunno know what is meant by that. What I do know is that DOSBox crashes and burns, asking me send diagnostics to Microsoft, if I try to run the demo from a long subdirectory path like C:\Demos\DOS\2nd_Real instead of just C:\.
