Booting DOS inside LAN Boot Rom.... Maybe ROM-DOS.

I have googled it in many ways, in reality there is plenty of room 64kb to 256kb. Minimalist bootable DOS can be achieved, but there is no tutorials and no ROMs. I am certain, that i am not the only one who have taught that.

In reality DOS 6.22 can read and write 64k cluster 4GB (Windows NT) FAT16 drives just fine, but it is not an official way, so use it on your own risk.

Hey, you can allways build a newer PCI based 486 rig. Or older ISA based rig. You have the freedom to just skip VLB era alltogether. Somehow VLB stuff never gave me any problems, well i never went over 33Mhz FSB limit. And usually only thing VLB in your rig should be the Video Card.

It is all in the tastes and prefrences, in reality you can do everything with slot 1 440BX board, with hardware throttle and disabling internal cache. Sooooo... it it all in the prefrences and tastes, I own Computers from P3 era to 486 era, but mu main retro battlestation is a P3 600Mhz 440BX board …

I want to make a all in ome modernish DOS machine, and i thing a Socket 479 Pentium M board wolud be perfect for that, because those Pentium 4 boards are power hungry and Core 2 is bit overkill. Maybe someone have some experience, and maybe there are models with built in speed throttling.

Usually if in dos something is wrong, et problem is with a memory managers etc... maybe you will show us your config.sys and autoexec.bat.

For me Windows 3.1 Button and control system, and Windows 9x user interface. Soooo... Calmira. We really did not have to go higher. Ok but i really like that soft Windows 7 look, and hate that boxy 8/10 look.
