Thanks I have the exact same issue as with my Gigabyte GA-5AA. For example Quake 3 640x480 on my MVP3 can do 48fps while on the 5AA I can get only ~36fps. I've tried both PCI and AGP Voodoo 3s. I am still running BIOS F3, so I should try F7B. CPUZ, CPUMark and anything CPU related the performance is …

Why? Makes sense. The 7500 has HW T&L, I expect it would also beat a Voodoo 5. Also you're very CPU bottlenecked so I doubt a V5 would be faster than a V3 in a P1!

Usually on a PowerVR when there's way too much textures to thrash the TSP, it'll just skip them, and some games just stick to lower mip levels (Unreal etc) to fit them into rendering. Weapons and players are loaded last in Q3. Good to know, I had a similar issue in 3dmark2000 in the high quality …

98 seems pretty stable to me. Can get interesting if you keep swaping drivers/hardware though. So I suggest fresh install on new hardware. Otherwise more than 512mb can cause issues, there are patches but I'd just limit to 512mb IMHO.

Love it! I own 4 (!!) of his cards now, but not this one. Congratulations on the purchase, he does amazing work. I would be interested to see 3dmark2001se 64mb vs 128mb benchmarks if possible!

I assume that is a 430vx or tx board, if so it can only cache 64mb ram, so downgrade to 64mb will give you more performance. Saying this, I doubt it is the cause for such a slow down. Maybe check l1/l2 cache is enabled in the BIOS?
