A machine from 2008 will probably handle 8GB max. Core quads are nice CPUs and good upgrade parts. And compared to C2Q a new PC has power well beyond my requests...

Well, it's been a while, Senrew's vanished, not responding emails and not appearing of vogons. Raccoonrider got scummed on the net for the very first time. That was unexpected. $60 is not a fortune, it just feels bad, given how much I like this place.

Great build! Got me thinking I should make something similar one day. After all, I already have most of the hardware including an almost similar motherboard, CUBX-L, it's the same except for the Promise IDE controller you have already built-in.

When I first tried S3 805 it seemed ultimately fast, way faster than any Cirrus or Trident cards I owned back then. It definitely should be a solid performer.

I have encountered a few 486 boards that do that, never this model, but the ones I have seen had the same problem, the voltreg. Usually 5V chips bypassed it but sometimes not. Perhaps you should get a multimeter out and test that. Otherwise it seems there are a few revisions out there, probably …

The keyboard connector is probably bad. The keyboard flickers when it detects voltage, so one of the signal pins probably has bad connection.
