Re: Ancient DOS Games Webshow

I'm not a fan of games that play like watching a movie. Case in point: I don't like Bioshock. :O Yeah, I'm REALLY in the minority for that one. But the thing is that the game gives you so little room to go beyond its bounds that I just started getting bored. If not for the photo-taking mechanic, it …

Re: win95 tips

Website isn't too bad however, Windows message parodies have been done to death so this is just the same old shtick all over again.

Re: Ancient DOS Games Webshow

Just checked out the Carmageddon episode Chris and it is great as always. Carmageddon is a great game though there is one thing I wanted to bring up in regards to the GOG.com version if you want to play it in Hi Res mode without the problems with DOSBox's framerate issues. GOG provides a Windows 95 …

Re: The downfall of Firefox

Today I just switched to Pale Moon after finding that Opera does not run well on my machine because of how it is supposedly not GPU accelerated. Pale Moon has been running fantastically for me and does not have the bloated feel of normal Firefox.

Re: Ancient DOS Games Webshow

Ah crap... >_>;;; I just did some math. Based on the amount of music I intended to upload, the number of fans of ADG, and the amount of bandwidth I'm allowed to use per month, if I do this music upload as intended and every ADG fan downloads every piece of music I upload, I'll exceed my website's …

Re: Game skills you really suck at?

I am a bit ambivalent towards RPG and RTS games, I mean I am decent at them but a lot of problems arise in certain games, like Ultima VII for example, I either suck or am doing something wrong because not only do I constantly get killed but I have no idea where to go at points. Two genres I REALLY …

Re: Most disappointing games?

For me it is any Halo game Loved the first one in splitscreen multiplayer back in the day. Those graphics and huge environments were really impressive if you haven't played Unreal before, which was the case for me. Got the PC version myself after a few years and was pretty disappointed with the …

Re: Most disappointing games?

For me it is any Halo game, in my teens when I heard about Halo 2 (Yes I am a young punk...) being this amazing experience of an FPS game it made me lust over the Xbox and thankfully the lust wasn't too bad since I ended up playing awesome Xbox games at the time like Ninja Gaiden or Panzer Dragoon …

Re: Having some Roland fun!

This guy supposedly has SC-88 recordings of the Daggerfall soundtrack, although they sound better than what comes out of my SC-88: http://www.youtube.com/user/DaggerfallUser?feature=watch Edit: Hmm, the DF MIDIs seem to sound slightly better when I init my SC-88 for GM mode instead of GS mode. They …

Re: Games you wish you *had* bought

leileilol wrote: The only affordable place i've seen Tomba! is the Playstation 3's PlaystationStore Which is why I am kicking myself in the foot because I lack a PS3 to get it. I also hear that the PS3 version has issues not present in the original release.

Re: Games you wish you *had* bought

While not PC games, I REALLY wished I purchased Tomba and Tomba 2 for the Playstation as a kid, I have always wanted to play the full versions of those games after playing the demos back in the day, but now I can't get them since copies of them are ridiculously expensive on eBay and Amazon.

Re: Having some Roland fun!

Oddly enough I would love to hear the OVERSNOW.MID and 10.MID from The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall on an SC-88. I thought those sounded great on my SC-55 but would like to hear if they sound great on an SC-88.

Re: Ancient DOS Games Webshow

Well, as you've probably noticed, I tend to just tell people to "choose whichever sounds best on your system". Recording the MIDI separately is dangerous if the framerate skips a beat because while DOSBox's recording won't pick that up in the gameplay, an external recording device WILL pick it up …

Re: Computing pet-peeves

When someone clearly has a PC that looks like it is running terrible, complains about it, and when you suggest to help they shrug you off despite them being aware that you know a lot about computers. Hopefully I am not the only one who experienced that.
