Re: Broken graphics cards?

This generation of cards has several problems that causes failures mainly thermal death and rot caps while the other can't be fixed short of either buying another card or replacing the gpu which not very many people have the tools on hand to do. Oven baking can "fix" a card if the broken joint is …

Re: Diamond Stealth III S540 32Mb

In my opinion but probably a fact for many that one of the biggest downsides to the V3 pci is going to always be the cost as the cards are always in demand while the Banshee often goes under the radar so to speak as people are less familiar while others it is looked upon as being slow for the job. …

Re: Bought this (Modern) hardware today

Well, there is unwritten rule that everything "Core 2 era" and newer are too modern to be considered retro... so it goes here. But of course for todays standards even 5870 is far from modern HW. Yea but unless you're playing modern triple A titles. Anything Core 2 era is perfectly usable …

Re: TOP 5 videocards of all time

For me any list should automatically include the ATI 9700/9800 and the legendary 8800 GTX/Ultra as they were such a big thing during their time and performance wise lasted much longer than anyone had expected along with the V1 and V2. Also we can't forget cards like the 6800 Ultra and X850 PE.

The Legend of Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets

Re: Intel Larrabee - need help getting it to run

I remember hunting around for info on this card years back and yes there are driver for it that will allow it to run as a graphics card but I think that you are sol unless someone helps you out. A dev even ran GTA IV on it with poor performance and I believe that it was the drivers being hell to the …
