Athlon XP is the easier of the two and much cheaper (for now), just be sure to get a Good cooler and strong psu. The boards can be dirt cheap so have fun getting a high end board for chicken feed 😉

I've got V1s, V2s, V3s, and V5s. I'm slowly coming to accept that 3dfx hardware is mostly unnecessary. Modern computers with nglide can run most things. Heck, even Mechwarrior II, EF2000, and Archimedean Dynasty can be made to run nowadays. As time goes on, there are fewer and fewer games that …

Picked up another Xeon E5 V3 for $104 shipped, some oddball QS model with 12 cores and 30mb of L3 cache. Wanted to try out a V4 Broadwell but too many of them are ES that don't play nice with x99 boards for comfort.
