Did you check the in/out port of the mt32, it's easy to get confused and plug the wrong one in.

That's not true. You just have to mount intelligently. If all your dos apps and games are installed to c:/dos and you mont c:/dos as c you have access to ALL the folders in there. If you need further access to folders outside of c:/dos mount them as different drives.

Line in is mostly for recording other stuff than voice. Fortunately people realized that rerouting line into out makes sense for people. I guess they didn't know that with the 2.0 or it is indeed broken.

Hmm, does the cue file (it's only a text file) point to the bin (SWARS.BIN best without a path) and mention audio tracks?

I think the best program to do that is currently Alcohol 120%. Last time I tried it the trial version got the job done

Maybe the music is cd audio tracks? To test mount the cd to d instead of the folder. When that does the trick, make a bin/cue image of the CD and use imgmount instead of mount to mount the image.
