My tests showed that, under Windows 98 and with a Voodoo 2 card, the MMX 166 is ahead of the 200. In DOS the MMX doesn't help that much though. I think I have 11 iDX4-100 SK096. That's my top duplicate 😁 Then I have 4 AWE64G, 2 AWE32 CT2670, 2 MB1433/40/50UIAV, 2 wrapped HD2900XT ... more standard numbers 😁

I've been running 50MHz VLB with ET4000/W32p and Tekram DC680-T flawlessly 😀 But same with S3 805 is a "no go" So yes, VLB is not a simple mix and match 😁 But I like it, I feel a 486 should be VLB. PCI on those is just a VLB hack in the end anyway no ?

My 333MHz Pentium 2 bought in 1998. Second oldest is the MS6163pro MB I bought in 1999 to replace the dead 440LX MB that came with the P2. And third is the RIVA TNT Creative I also bought in 1999 😁

And I'm talking from benchmarks I did a few month ago, opposing around 10 cards, ISA and VLB, on a 486. I'll republish the numbers this evening. The ET4000 might feel smooth in most of Doom, but it's still very bottlenecked by the ISA bus.

I have a Vision Master Pro 410 as my main retro screen, and some other basic 17inch screen "in case". I also have a 12inch CRT that came with a 386sx16, that I keep because I want thtat system to stay whole. And then I have the Atari CRTs.
