MB-1433/50 UIV is really good. I have two, it's like the best after the ASUS SV2GX4. It's actually a tad faster, I only prefer the ASUS because the CPU doesn't get in the way of long AWE 32s :) As for your original question, for me : 486 is VLB, VLB is 486. At that kind of price I start going Intel. 1000 is for just tower or full PC ? If just tower : core i5, 8GB, R9 270X, 128GB SSD, 500/100 GB HDD, 500W good PSU.

I understood correctly, but I disagree. I'm pretty sure putting the celeron on the 440BX at 66MHz bus speed would give pretty much the same 3Dmark score as the P2.

I find it very hard to call for a "better" one on nearly each of those videos. (doom is an exception, roland >> *) There's always a part of each song I prefer on one module/sound card compared to the other. I'd rather have a piece of yamaha bass, some roland treble and some AWE effects all together …
