There are no pins missing at all. If You look close enough You will see the "non missing" pins aren't connected to anything. I just counted them. There are 11 pins connected to nothing and the bottom card has the same 11 missing pins. Likely Creative used a couple of different board manufacturers …

Thanks. I should have looked back a page, the same question was asked by Daniël Oosterhuis. Too much hassle trying to install NT4, XP, or Win2000 on this computer but may try to boot xp off Hiren's boot cd and try Siv in that, but the questions been answered.

Overclocked IBM/Cyrix MII PR166@200mhz, and stock AMD K6 266 (66X4). I am curious why cpuz has no problem detecting fsb and multipliers on the 6x86 chips but can't on the AMD K6 on the same Motherboard which is a EPOX EP-MVP3G5. The K6 is not a k6-2

Try a different main video card if You have one. If it works perfectly on the P3 system then it won't be the voodoo1 that is the problem. Maybe it's not properly switching between video cards. Software/driver issues?

I have attached the datasheet, 175 Degrees C operating temperature. Just put a heatsink on it and should be ok. You could also measure it with a multimeter, there should be no short circuits between any of the pins.

I ended up removing the Fet then jumpering the 5v Across to the output. I spent ages figuring out where traces go …

Just a quick update of no success yet. I have put the regulators back on, replaced the capacitor and zener diode but I have 1v output from the Fet in the power stage. It's possible the Fet is stuffed, will replace that next and see what happens.

It's pretty easy to figure out. If The bios is 128kb in size, also known as 1 MegaBit, then a 27c1001(101) or equivalent usually is correct. I would suggest electronically getting eraseable chips, it's easier than messing with UV eraseable ic's.

The safest way to flash bioses on these old boards is to get yourself an eprom programmer, some chips, and a UV eraser if needed. That way you can flash bioses to Your hearts content and see what happens, then revert to the original IC if you run into problems.
