Mortal Kombat 2/3/Trilogy Speed Issues

Having the weirdest issue with the DOS MK games, and I've noticed that it occurs on the GOG versions as well (mine being the retail). When configured so that the game itself runs smoothly, the round timer moves incredibly quickly, instead of one second per second like it should. I then tried slowing …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

It seems like the Mobygames images download function is broken again. When creating a new profile, when you click insert to populate the info from mobygames.com with the option to download images selected, it will throw an error saying "Error reading data from www.mobygames.com". The meta …

Spelljammer MT-32 support?

I've looked in a lot of places, but I can't find a definite answer regarding Spelljammer's MT-32 support. The setup (and most of the documentation) lists the Roland LAPC as supported(thus, by extension, the MT-32 as well) but no list of MT-32 compatible games I could find mentions it. I know there …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

The old DataReader version seems to have indeed been the issue. It also explains why uninstalling & reinstalling did nothing, since I chose to keep my profile folder on uninstall. Thanks for the assistance! EDIT: I was wondering if there's a way to pull Mobygames data for an already existing …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (DOSBox frontend)

Hi Alexander, There seems to be a bug that's recurring. I noticed that it was mentioned as fixed on the Facebook page, but it's happening again for both versions 1.3.6 and 1.4.0b1 D-Fend bug.jpg For those who can't see the picture, it's the bug where the insert button on profile creation is disabled …

Re: Anvil of Dawn & MT-32?

in DOS
But that's as it currently stands. What I'm curious about is whether it would utilize the MT-32 if it was modified so the MIDI was piped through channels 2-10. That is to say, I'm wondering whether it only supports GM because someone slipped up when coding it(i.e. is it a bug?), or whether they just …

Anvil of Dawn & MT-32?

in DOS
I saw that the Wikipedia page listed Anvil of Dawn as not being MT-32 compatible, because it plays on channels other than 2-10. Does that mean that if it did play on channels 2-10 it would be compatible? If so, would there be a way to patch it to play on channels 2-10?

RGB Filter

I was wondering, is there a way to make the black lines between the pixels thinner with the RGB filter? Whether they just appear thinner, or whether the values need to be manually adjusted, I just want to make them slightly more unobtrusive.

Tandy Speaker question

Does the Tandy speaker sound option output via the physical PC speaker? If so, is there a way to make it output via my sound system(e.g. onboard sound card) instead? My PC doesn't have a built-in speaker anymore...

Re: Recovering games from corrupt floppies

in DOS
I'll give it a try and let you know how it goes. EDIT: Unfortunately, no results. Guess they're well and truly gone. I don't suppose there's someone out there who'd be willing to PM me floppy images of the two games? I'd be willing to provide photographs of my copies to prove I own them upon …

Recovering games from corrupt floppies

in DOS
I recently got my hands on original copies of Fighting for Rome and its sequel Cohort II. Unfortunately, the floppies are corrupt. I've tried using BadCopy or another floppy recovery tool, but so far I'm having no luck. Could anyone suggest how I might go about getting to the point where I can …
