is there any significant advantage in using 7.76? with a Pentium 3? in any case, a fast 4 MX (460 or 440 with high clocks) or fast FX 5200 should mostly deliver a similar experience (well, no PS on the MX) to the ti 200 and should be easier to find.

I have to wonder if "the fast and the furious" (2001) had an effect, I sure think the case I mentioned earlier took some inspiration on that with the neon light thing.

could this be vsync? like double buffered vsync at 75Hz not hitting full FPS so going to half framerate? because the game doesn't have a lock at 38FPS, I've played it at 60 and more, also p3 933 should improve the game quite a bit from a P2 from my experience with P2 400 vs p3 750 with the v4 4500. …

I think some of the tests were re used from 3dm05 and ran a lot slower but it looks good, just not really impressive compared to modern games I don't think, still not too bad, impressive for the time no doubt. still I think it aged a lot better than 3dmark vantage.

if I use larger chips on the 440bx some software will detect the full capacity but the memory controller will never use it (uses half), just trust whatever the board on bootup reads AFAIK.

the voodoo 2 combined with the onboard s3 virge makes more sense. 6200 with a k6-266 makes no sense. in any case, I think that's fine for some 9x and DOS gaming, the sound adapter is probably not great, but should have OK compatibility.
