Re: Has anyone ran Privateer 2 on a real system?

in DOS
I tested without the joystick, and it ran smoothly (albeit I cannot control the ship with the mouse very well). I think the reason it was wonky the first time was that I hadn't calibrated the joystick (even though the joystick was not selected). Press ALT-O in flight to access the options, calibrate …

OK, here's some updates. I was able to get the GOG version to play in real DOS, well, actually, FreeDOS, but same difference. Thanks Mau1wurf1977 for the cfg file settings. Hmmm..., do you know if the GOG copy is the deluxe version or the original DOS? I have the deluxe; it's …

Re: Help with DOS 6.22

Not sure what you mean by banana drive. I like to FDISK and FORMAT outside of the installation program. Just starting from the top here, apologies if you've already done these things: 1) Make sure the hard drive is detected by the BIOS. 2) Assuming that it is, try booting up with MS-DOS setup disk …

Re: Zone 66

Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm still getting nothing. Just setting the blaster variable without a driver does nothing with these sound cards. I also tried an ESS1868. I'm going to try a Creative ISA card next, but I'll have to purchase it. I would like to go oldschool and not use emulation... …
