Re: MT-32 (old) rev0 and MT-32 (old) rev1 differences

in MT-32 General
Maybe the Wikipedia page will be helpful: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_MT-32 MT-32 with revision 0 PCB, used in units up to serial number 851399. The PGA LA32 chip is later replaced with a 100-pin QFP type. I already mentioned this. As far as I know they differ in the LA32 chip packaging, …

Re: MT-32 (old) rev0 and MT-32 (old) rev1 differences

in MT-32 General
Thank you for your video and dedication Phil. I knew about your video and saw it a couple of times, and even now again some bits, but there's no reference to the MT-32 old rev1. I'm trying to find information about the MT-32 old rev1 (that is not the same as the MT-32-new that you reviewed).

Route MIDI-IN to SB16 FM Synth

Hello, I want to play a midi keyboard and have the Sound Blaster 16 play the sound. I'm using Win98SE and a standard DB15 to Midi In/Out cable. So far I've been able to do it using MIDI-OX 16 (newer versions crash). Are there any other ways to accomplish this using different software for Windows or …

Re: EMS and usbmass.exe problem

in DOS
DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE X=? Yes, I guess that could work, but I don't know precisely what part of memory I should specify next to X= After many shots in the dark, I came across with a solution. I don't have an idea why it works but it does. I'd like you to help me figure out why. I can do all the …

EMS and usbmass.exe problem

in DOS
I need to load EMS (EMM386.exe) and USBMASS (proprietary usb 2.0 driver) on this harddrive-less Pentium 1 computer. With ems, while usbmass.exe loads, when I check my usb stick dir, instead of the list of files, all I see is "IO.SYS" and nothing else. So I guess this has to do with emm386 and how it …

Can't backup game floppy

The game only works in VGA mode running vs_handa.exe directly from the original floppy. That is to say: A:\>vs_handa If I use a copy (created with WinImage, HD-COPY, linux dd, plain ms-dos copy, and more) I only get: [0106:2] This program has not been installed properly! It is a 3 1/4 inch floppy …

Re: OPL Passthrough under Linux?

Pretty please. I already managed to compile the megabuild6 in Ubuntu 16.04 amd64. I also had to use root to run it, otherwise I got: OPL passthrough: permission denied. Aborting. Tried different configs to no avail. My ports are snd_cmipci: mpu_port=0x330 fm_port=0x388 Any help would be appreciated!

Re: OPL Passthrough under Linux?

Hello people, I'm trying to accomplish this too. I can't find a DOSBox build that supports hardware OPL under GNU/Linux nor I don't know how to apply any of what is described in this thread. How could I apply the hack by TheLazy1 to the source code and what should I change? Thank you in advance. …

Corrupted music in dott

in DOS
Hi there people, I'm trying to get dott to work on an old Pentium MMX (166 Mhz), 64 MB EDO RAM, Sound card is ALS100 (with OPL). Works fine in all games, but dott is giving me headache. Sound works (voices, effects), but music doesn't. All I hear is some kind of corrupted music. It's the same for …
