You can always undervolt to some degree. My P-233MMX run fine at just 2.2V @233MHz. It also runs @315MHz at 3.0V

What chipset does your speedstar use? I believe it's ET4000 or ET4000AX - which aren't GUI accelerators. HardwareExtreme: no problemo 😉

Drivers for CL-5429 are from 1994 and are compatible with Windows 3.1 - so it says. But looking at the file list, there is a file named: VDD542X.386 and this clearly wants 32-bit cpu. I checked drivers for Tseng ET4000 and ET4000/w32 - they both have VDDTLI4.386. I'm guessing the GUI acceleration …

K6 cpus are quite power hungry. You can try lowering voltage, but anything more then 0,1-0,2V under the rating could result in system instabilities - unless you are also under-clocking it. Performance wise they are the same.

Try the usual. Change PCI slot, check PCI settings and IRQs in BIOS. I don't think the graphic cards or the drivers to be faulty.

I don't see any problem with dimensions - they seem like every other 30-pin simm and they are 30-pin - I counted 😉 It's just the number of chips that bothers me.

You can install CD/DVD on any old computer - except if the case is too small - but I doubt that as 5.25" floppy drives are the same size.

Also check the jumpers for correct amount of installed cache. Try to set the slowest cache timings.
