Badmofo, SVGA is 800x600 right? I'm happy with 640x480 BTW any problems slowing down the 166MMX? What do you get with both L1 and L2 Cache disabled?

Hi guys, I'm putting up a Socket 7 machine and have a couple of questions. Just want to get your different opinions. First the processor, I'm doubting between a Pentium 120mhz or a Pentium 166MMX. Yes guys, happy enough with my setup. Great setup indeed. Just investigating and fun...there are lots of things I don't know yet! Thanx to you guys I'm learning quite a lot!

I have also tried the "as many sound cards as possible" in a single machine. Always ends in long nights and dramas 😀 hehe true that!

Old thread, but I wanted to share my finds of this board. As Elianda stated, cache is SRAM. That explains L2 Off results. Is it really worth 3dfx in Ms-DOS? I mean, just to speed up a bit games like Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, GTA 1... Do I need any drivers for DOS? I know that you need a Pentium minimum but I want to try it in a 486.
