Re: New Retrorig advice

Alexanrs: Thanks for the tip. That's just what I was looking for...Ï much prefer OEM systems because of compatibility issues. I remember having a 90's Packard Bell (don't remember which one) and it was a nightmare! I should check what you mentioned. Kreshna Aryaguna Nurzaman: In reality I was …

Hi guys, I'm thinking on getting the following computer: IBM 300GL 200mhz mmx CPU https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1517/24246958833_f2313b4585_b.jpg Aesthetically I like the case a lot. My aim is to play DOS games up to 1995-6. so I'm thinking on changing the CPU to a regular Pentium 133mhz so …

Re: Blood pc game Sound Problem

in DOS
Hi guys, I know this is a very old thread. But I haven't been able to get the sound right with General Midi in Blood. I have downloaded the patch, I run the patch, but I don't know how to apply "MIDI_fix.ips" to "sounds.rff" Will the CD version solve this problem getting the sound out of the CD?

Re: Install SB16 in Windows 95

in Windows
I tried System Commander as boot manager, it worked fine. Only problem was that each time I used a different system/partition, eg. W95, then MS-DOS. System Commander would alter the autoexec.bat and config.sys files. I would write my own autoexec.bat and config.sys files for MS-Dos then boot into …

Voodoo 1 in only MS DOS Environment

in Milliways
Hi guys, I've been searching for information about the Vooodoo1 in DOS and compatible games. I want to run Blood, so what I did is install glide2x.ovl in the game directory and then run blood.exe. Is that all to it? I don't see any difference in performance or graphics. From what I gathered the only …

Re: Install SB16 in Windows 95

in Windows
Hi Jorpho, thanx for your answer. What I mean in the second question is that I want different drivers to load than the ones loaded when W95 GUI loads up. My own autoexec.bat and config.sys only for MS-DOS mode. Why? So I have more free conventional memory.

Re: Install SB16 in Windows 95

Ah yes. Yea I never figured out how to get this going. But I didn't spend too much time on it either :) I also haven't modified MSDOS.SYS so I know less about this than you do. I'll keep trying, if I find something I'll let you guys know. I'm also seem to be having some problems with SB16 DMA …

Re: Install SB16 in Windows 95

Windows should come with the drivers. Just got to manually install them. Thanx Mau1wurf1977, got it working. I have another question. Inspired by your W95 MSDOS hybrid machine video I made my own command.com with its own DOS setup. I made some changes in the MSDOS.SYS so the computer boots directly …

Install SB16 in Windows 95

in Windows
Hi guys, I can't install SB16 in windows 95 no matter what I tried. First I tried to install de regullar sb16 drivers in Windows 95 DOS mode but a message appears stating I'm trying to install a DOS program runing Windows 95, and I don't seem to find any SB16 drivers specifically for W95. Any …

Re: New Socket 7 Build

Ok guys here's my almost complete setup. In the end I decided to go for the Zida 5SVA-E because it is the only board that has pins on the MOBO for the Turbo Switch. I also chose this board because I connected the turbo switch button cables to the MOBO multiplier pins, and it is the board that let's …
