Money motivates people to find and sell rare items so they don't get trashed or recycled. I would rather a cool rarity ends up in a collection and preserved instead of trashed and lost forever. I don't understand how some people "deserve" rate items and others don't. Would you call somebody who collected for 20 years got bored and sold all the rarities (which nobody wanted 20 years ago) a speculator and not a collector? Did you Matrox card come with full RAM or did you add it? Just wondering because I have the 2MB card and have chips to make it 4MB and was curious if you had to change a jumper or dip switch to get the extra RAM to work.

I would wash it (remove the battery if it has one) with liquid dish soap and hot water using a fine soft paintbrush to loosen up the sludge. Let it dry a few days and see if it posts. Those traces (once cleaned) should be easy to trace and fix. All you have to loose it a bit of time trying.

Well I found drivers for it. Now I just need to replace the ODIN OEC12C887a on my MB-8433UUD and I can test it out. Oh and the CPU is a AMD 486-133 running at 160, wonder where the Cyrix ended up.

While this site might be mostly PC centric (and I have tons of PCs), I think many collectors collect more then one platform. Personally I have a few Amigas (A1000, 2x A2000, A3000, A4000, A1200, A500) plus a few Commodore 8 bits (C16, C64, C64c, C128). I also collect 68K/PPC Macs among others.
