I wish that I had never played Halo CE so I could again enjoy playing it for the first time. I did find the library frustrating at first, but I don't mind it now. Learning to avoid the Flood with rocket launchers does take some time though.

If the power draw on the +5 is too much for this power supply, you might be able to get it to POST with a basic PCI video card (watch the linked video if you didn't). In the upper left of the photo I see what appears to be a capacitor with a domed top which indicates that it is failing. That power supply ought to get this system to POST, but 20A +5 will leave little margin for error and could be an issue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efK7mw8eYiE&t=9s

I've had systems hang on the POST screen when there is an IDE cable plugged in to a dead IDE drive or a drive that doesn't have power. One of many reasons to pull the board and strip it down to the bare minimum when troubleshooting.

It's possible that there are speed settings where the POST screen won't be able to show the correct speed as it wasn't included in the BIOS code. If the multiplier is set at 2x and the FSB is set to 100 MHz then you will have 600 MHz regardless of what the POST screen displays. You can check it with …

I had an Asus P2B and I found that power hungry AGP cards wouldn't work in it. I think the best card I tried that worked was my Quadro 2 (same as a Geforce 2 Ti). It wouldn't be too surprising if that was the issue. Do you have another motherboard you can try the video card with?

Many MVP3 (most?) motherboards only go up to 100 MHz frontside bus, and if this is true of the one you have, 600 MHz will be the highest speed you can achieve. Is there a version of this software that will work on hardware this old? I've used Clonezilla successfully on newer hardware, but when I wanted to clone my Socket 7 machine I gave up and used Norton's Ghost instead. A version of Clonezilla that would work on such old hardware would be great.

Did you have a CMOS battery installed when you tried it out? Some motherboards will not POST without one.
