The support for the K6-2/3+ CPUs is irrelevant if you don't use one of those CPUs - in Jan's own words "Revision 0207-2 from 04/28/99 is actually the latest from Asus for this T2P4 board. You ought to be able to customize the case's USB cable by (carefully) lifting the plastic retainers and arranging the pins to match. Image shows a pair of five pin connectors, but the procedure is the same.

I'm not going to buy this retro hardware, but for any fellow Vogons in driving distance, this is available. I'd be tempted, but I've decided that I need to downsize to have a lighter load when I move to a less crowded place that I can afford.

I ran my Epox 8K3A+ at 209 FSB for a long time. I pushed it up to 215, and it was still stable, but my hard drive speed fell off sharply at anything over 209 so I went back to that. I upgraded to an 8RDA3+ because the 8K3A+ developed a case of bad capacitors.

For a very fast Windows 98 system use Athlon XP or P4. They are both very cheap. Socket 754 is early Windows XP territory, a slightly better Athlon XP. My Asus Socket 754 system worked perfectly with Windows 98 SE as long as it had an early BIOS installed. https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?p= …
