Re: Bad Things

Electronic Countermeasures... now that's government fluff for "uses electronics to kill people," right? *hears the G-Men roar up and bust down the front door*

Re: Help with the 7th guest on XP

in Windows
The Windows interpreter for The 7th Guest has speed issues as well, not to mention very weird flickering that I can imagine has something to do with paletting or, uh, something. In any case, it doesn't run very well. The sound in the FMV is off, and THOSE are the only things that run at a proper …

Re: Windows versions of DOS games list

in Deep Thought
Yeah, that's right, I forgot that most video cards can decode MPEG-2 data. Hah. I have a Hollywood+ in my old Alienware box, which is no longer used by me, but it's still there. It won't do shit since I can't get !@#$ S/PDIF in to work on my !@#$ SBAudigy, but y'know. VIDEO! ahahaha, lies! They …

some of these games !! This looks like a fun one just for the challenge of actually getting it to run (not much else, heh). I love adventure games, and I see a few oldies here that I really want. (However, the selection is NOT as great as I initially thought. :( I mean, they have Blade Runner, RAMA …

Re: DodGE, The DOS Game Emulator

Dude, Tex Murphy games rule. Gimme those binaries now or I'll ... I'll ... I'll do something really mean! And, manual ! Heh, you know what I just realised by reading the story portion of that manual? Overseer is *the* *same* *story*! (Of course, it doesn't work either without a hardware DVD decoder, …

Re: Win98? PLEASE?????!

Oh, dude, you had the same problem with MadTV 1 and mouse support? *phew* Glad to hear I'm not the only one, I, err, guess, insofar that I was worried there was something seriously wrong with my system. (Well, I mean, there was, but...yeah.) Anyway, the main reason VDMS is extremely non-portable is …

Re: VDMSound featured in PC Gamer Magazine!

DS, I totally agree with you. I don't think I'm going to be renewing my subscription. The only thing I find good about it (and this is only with the disc version) is that they have a database of every single game they've ever reviewed (and their reviews are usually spot-on or near to it). Speaking …

Dude, how exactly would you propose DosBox does it? It would have to use *exact* CD images on the HDD or have direct access to CDs.

I recall there was a program that automajickally allowed you to do this, so I don't see the big deal. Maybe it's even the program that he references. In either case, I hate TechTV. They dish out crappy, unintelligent, biased information, and too much of it.

Re: Bad Things

Was that the job you were canned from, or whatever? Or is it just too old for the times? Hey, maybe you should try working at a TV station. 😀

Re: DVD Games, where art thou?

in Windows
I think Access (made the Tex Murphy games) finally gave up and died. Don't quote me on that, though. I may try Overseer again to see if it does work or whatever for me. Unlikely, but maybe InterVideo kluged in a compatibility layer or something for WinDVD4. Dark Side of the Moon won't work because, …

Re: Duke Nukem 3D on Win2K

I love the Super Eagle engine. It's great. It has edge detection, and then smoothes it. Look at any game's title screen on the SNES, for example. Some modes it doesn't work on (Mode 7) but for the most part it rules.
