How does the Cirrus 5429/5430 (not 5434 or higher or 5428 or lower) behave when such operation is running?

It really depends on the host due to the current dynarec, I mean, if you want a perfect 100% speed in the Pentium MMX at 200Mhz, you need that 4.2GHz machine.

You need a more powerful CPU and mobo. The reason why on some boards you can't set more than 128MB of ram is because the 86box team prefers to set it per how the emulated motherboard originally supported the highest amount of ram when it shipped. There are several bus types for the HDD, ranging from MFM/RLL to SCSI (+ removable), check our #softhistory channel over at ringoflightning for more information. Edit: For your specific configuration written here, set the the HDD type to IDE and the bus type to either IDE PIO or IDE PIO+DMA.

86Box has support for networking (PCap and SLiRP) with two nics, either the ne2000 isa or rtl8029as pci.

If anyone wants SCSI emulation, just use 86Box. Has Battler tried to add hard disk SCSI emulation to 86Box yet? This can be done somehow by porting some of the code from QEMU. Until then, for SCSI hard disk and CD-ROM emulation, either use VMware Workstation Player, Qemu or VirtualBox. :) Just only …

Use 86Box, it has a more accurate OPL3 emulation. VirtualBox does not provide OPL3 emulation because it's not in their "priority" list.
