I think that Debian and its derivatives are a de-facto standard. At least in terms of gaming on Linux. Valve develops Debian-based SteamOS, supports Ubuntu and GOG is going to suppport Ubuntu and Mint. Other distros (not all of them, hard to play games on Clonezilla Live :lol: ) aren't supported but …

I used to play Half-Life through Wine on Arch Linux and now it can run natively. Linux is getting better on desktops and I love it. 😊

A lossless audio format means a smaller file size and tagging support. And you don't need a disc image emulator or a CD burner to play it. It is even possible to rip CDs to single lossless audio files with embedded cue sheets.

1600x1200 (1920x1200 FTW!) is great, but in some older games the GUI is too small. I have good memories with Radeon 9550. Cheap and fast (it can run with 9600's clocks). 😀

Well, I think that BASSMIDI Driver performs better than VirtualMIDISynth, but not on Windows 8.1. It must be some compatibility issue (crackling). That's weird. I just the other day stepped a buddy of mine through installing the BMD under Windows 8.1, and it works quite well. That's weird indeed. …

I have a overclocked (10 x 166 MHz) Athlon XP "Thoroughbred A" 1700+ (now CPUID reports 2000+) with a standard cooler (+ a ten year old thermal paste 🤣 ) on MSI KT4V. The CPU Vcore is set to Auto and a sensor shows ~1.5 V. Idle: 40-42°C (with CoolON) Stress: 52-56°C
