I have an EEPROM programmer so maybe I'll use that to overwrite the original BIOS chip. I don't know why I haven't thought of that. holy crap. I've been using various sata-molex adapters for years any never had a problem. Maybe I've just been lucky. Just took a look at my adapters and one out of three was molded. Maybe better to just throw it away.

I just rescued a 19" Iiyama Vision Master 450 from the trash this morning. It weighs somwhere between 25 and 30 kg and apart from slight yellowing looks good on the outside. I still have to test it tho, keep your fingers crossed!

No, I'm most definitely using 3D Mark 2000. First benchmark is a military helicopter (Apache?) and the second is the medieval town. I don't know where I got that dragon part from but I clearly remember it from the past. Weird...

So far I tried two different optical drives and had no luck with either. One I couldn't even fit without shaving off a milimeter of the faceplate, the other gives me a HDC error at bootup. Will try a few more different drives tomorrow.
