Re: Sound blaster live and live drive question.

Hi all! I have a sound blaster live, CT4620 with the CT4660 board, with the connecting cable. I also have a live drive CT4860, but it did not have any cables. Does anyone know where I can find the cables or how I can make them? I am currently trying to build the 98 pc I did not have money to build …

Re: Is anyone excited for the Nvidia 3000 series cards

The point that I am trying to make, or more accurately the question I have is just how noticeable the jump to 8K will be. I have my doubts about the "very noticeable" aspect OK, here's a screenshot of GZDoom running at 1920x1080: Screenshot_Doom_20200926_221118.png You might not see anything wrong, …

I get that 2K on say a 32" or larger monitor may not be defined enough for some people and that 4K might might be preferable 4K is an improvement over "2K" even with a 27" monitor. Do I need new eyeballs and possibly a new brain, or is 8K getting close to pointless for most use cases ? You might …

I get that 2K on say a 32" or larger monitor may not be defined enough for some people and that 4K might might be preferable, even though I am happy with 2K . 8K, however, I don't get at all, unless wants to use a really big/monitor or TV and sit so close to it that the difference is actually …

Re: VGA Capture Thread

This is still so damn overcomplicated for what it is.. Question: My Matrox G450's DVI port outputs at 640x480@70Hz in DOS and the DOS image is letterboxed as 640x400 with empty pixels at top and bottom, so it is basically upscaled by 2x with no filters. Is this not a perfect way to capture DOS …

Re: VGA Capture Thread

That said, it is also too bad that the E1S is not available in a PCI-X 133 variant (or is it?). It would have found a nice place alongside my AJA Kona LH in my Supermicro X8SAX based system . There's the VisionRGB-X2 for PCI-X. A bunch of them on US ebay right now, not too bad of a price for a dual …

Re: VGA Capture Thread

That depends on if the PC-X 133 to PCI Express bridge on the card is PCI Express 2.0 capable or not . PCI-X 133 64-bit --> 1.06 GB/s PCI Express 1.0/1.1 x4 --> 1.000 GB/s No the card/bridge is PCIe 1.1. I meant it's unfortunate it isn't PCIe 2.0. Ah, I understand. It is indeed too bad . That said, …

Re: VGA Capture Thread

Hey guys. I put the VisionRGB E1S into a PCIe x1 slot. The x1 slots are open-ended on my motherboard and it was the easiest way to go. This appears to be more than adequate bandwidth up to 1024x768. So there is some flexibility there for a lot of retro capturing. HWInfo says the E1s is a bridged …
