Long shot. Is your BIOS set to some kind of IDE RAID or "enhanced mode" ? If so, try disabling it or setting it to legacy or compatibility mode .

If you are worried about a weird compatibility issue, how about running the UM-ONE to another one of your other Yamaha modules and then running the MIDI thru to the TG300 ? I imagine Yamaha modules should work with each other . Nice collection you have there, by the way.

Is the "HOST SELECT" labeled switch set to "MIDI" on the TG300 ? Is the "CONNECT TO MIDI IN" labeled cable on the UM-ONE connected to the "MIDI IN" labeled port on the TG300 ?

A DVI/HDMI doctor type device that makes the video card think that the monitor/TV only goes up to a given resolution might help here

I would run some hardware diags (Memtest and possible a disk SMART diag) just to be sure the shareware isn't a coincidence and the problem doesn't have a hardware origin .

OK, I did a quick test and flashed the LG's EDID into the Samsung . Now every DOS mode gives me a "Non Optimal resolution" message and the monitor's OSD indicates 1920x1200 (even though the display is not cut off and is centered), BUT 1600x1200 is present in the list of VESA modes and Duke Nukem 3D …

If your BIOS allows choosing which drive you boot from, you could effectively have one drive for each OS and switch from the BIOS setup menu .

So I've been wrong saying Mat-rocks all this time??? This is like the Hauppauge thing all over again. I personally know several people who used to work for Matrox and I can tell you that all of them pronounce it as "Mat-rocks" .
