+1 for the GF4 Ti. I would go for the 4400 or 4600, going for a little more grunt and skipping the Ti4200. The Voodoo3 is more than good enough for both 2D and 3D games. Spare yourself the hassle with going with 2 graphic cards! Tried heating it with a hair dryer or something? It may get looser/gooier when warm. Alternately freeze it, but be careful with condensation (that is, don't plug the card in immediately after, as it may create condensation and thus short).
