Yeah, the revision history says it was posted in 2009, and last revised in 2011. None of the revisions mention ever changing the price though, so I guess the price is still from 2009. Even in 2008/9 that's a ripoff; GeForce GTX 2xx series came out in 2008, as did the original Core i7 series. :dead:

Yes Ti4200 will be superior in basically every way - both are NV2x and the 4200 is faster. They'd both work well in a machine that needs to support DX7/8; a P3 could be a good example, so could a P4, an Athlon or AthlonXP, etc.

AFAIK they have the same, or very similar, drivers in general - all the ZS adds is 7.1 (vs 6.1). No idea how they do in DOS or anything like that (I know there's supposed to be an Audigy DOS driver, but I don't know if that extends to 2, 2 ZS, etc), but for DirectSound they should be equivalent …
