Re: Dosbox SVN r4019 + savestates Build (Alpha)

Please do use builds(3rd or 4th in the first post) that have enhancements/fixes by bruenor41. I will have to edit(if possible, (EDIT:done)) the sequence of the builds, later. Which are the games that you intend to record? P.S. AFAIK, only bruenor41 is working on this feature, presently. EDIT: …

Re: Suddenly can't edit posts anymore?

So, has it been decided to permanently drop the 'open for edit all the time' feature? Just 'time-restricted edit' to continue(?) till the end of time... Edit:Anddddd edit works again as on 19.01.18. Thanks heaps.

I'm now at home, i spend 1 hour in bed and then another hour walking around. I'm taking some opiate painkiller. I feel i'm getting slowly better, but i'm pretty scared. I think my condition is being evaluated, probably to decide if there is going to be a surgery or not. All i have to do is wait. …

Re: NVIDIA MaxWell/Pascal VESA Bios Bug

Yes, you are right. When your test program was run under DOS, the functions were shown as supported, but failed. Also flickering was observed when UniVBE's vbetest was run. I'm not familiar with the virtual scolling test aspect. Also when I initially tried the programs on XP's cmd prompt, just got a …

Diff of latest fixes/enhancements by bruenor41 against plain SVN r4019 for win32 build is attached. bruenor41_savestate_r4019_win32_mingw.patch And the usual disclaimer, 'USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK'. Patch Instructions for new users: 1) copy the attached patch file to dosbox SVN r4019 home directory ( …

Re: DOSBox SVN Builds

Crash is related to SDL. Precompiled SDL.dll with r4059 doesn't have this problem. GDB shows exception thrown on account of GFX_Events() function in sdlmain.cpp while using SDL.dll compiled locally in old MinGW/msys environment from SDL 1.2.15 sources.

Re: r4059 crashes when closed

My latest builds of DOSBox SVN r4059 crash whenever I close them via the "X" in the title bar. Closing it by entering "exit" in the DOSBox windows works, however. I tried it on several PCs, it happended all the time. Can anyone confirm this error? Yes, confirmed from my side. It wasn't there in old …

Retracting my statement in that case. It looked like that, especially when the villagers were attacking the town center the first time, my bad. Brings back fond memories of all-nighters during my college years, so couldn't resist post something, even if it is meh, on this thread. Edit:Watched the …

Re: Dosbox SVN r4019 + savestates Build (Alpha)

Yes, savestates now doesn't crash in Alien Carnage 😀 . Obviously it doesn't work while trying to load during the start up/briefing/level loading screens, as the name of the program in dosbox title window itself changes from harry to harry5. Weird. Win32 build added in first post.

Re: Dosbox SVN r4019 + savestates Build (Alpha)

@bruenor41, getting error while compiling your updated build in MinGW. There were some changes in my MinGW environment, but normal dosbox SVN compiles fine. Looking into drive_local.cpp, there seemed to be some major changes. Like, there was no 'localFile' Class at the start. Are you changing the …

Re: Dosbox SVN r4019 + savestates Build (Alpha)

It was more of a workaround than a fix actually and nothing brainy. As bruenor41 said, the issue was due to temporary files created by the game. The save/load code for dosfiles was just commented out for the Alien carnage specific build, as an attempt for an actual fix failed on my part due to …

Re: GTA IV Stuttering Issue.

Then, if not done already, please raise the issue with the game developers. However, good luck on getting a fix from them for a relatively old game. Have you tried the core affinity and compatibility thingies? To a lesser extent, try SSD install too. If you are hellbent, try gpuview too. However …
