Re: VGMSlap - DOS OPL1/2/3 VGM Player

MrKsoft wrote on 2024-05-08, 21:20: SBVGM is still the gold standard, though! Time-tested and versatile. I just wanted something flashier and OPL centric 😀 Thanks! 😀 I think the more new MS-DOS software the better. So jealous of how many new things are released for the other older platforms in …

Re: OPL3LPT : OPL3 FM Synthesis on parallel port

I tested on another laptop of a similar vintage (major differences being a Pentium CPU and an LPT port with ECP support instead of just EP), and the CVX4 sounds perfect. The OPL3LPT also works perfectly. Why would it not work on the Dell? I'm not familiar with the laptop in question, but it could …

Re: OPL3LPT : OPL3 FM Synthesis on parallel port

I'm not familiar with the sound support that Pinball Fantasies has, but unless it and Inertia Player support playing back digital audio on the OPL3 FM chip, I don't think those programs will work and you'll definitely get the audio issues you are having. If the test program doesn't work it might be …

What software are you using? Depending on what it is, it's likely that you'll need to load the ADLIPT TSR found in the oplutil.zip here: https://github.com/pdewacht/adlipt/releases You'll need to have USB power connected. Sometimes it might be that the USB power source isn't adequate. Please try …

Re: SBVGM (DOS) VGM Player

Thank you. I'll probably DM you for additional tests. The Tandy 3100 seems to be quite a unique platform. :-) This is awkward. I can't respond to you DM's. It says: We are sorry, but you are not authorized to use this feature. You may have just registered here and may need to participate more in …

Re: SBVGM (DOS) VGM Player

In the interim, do you know if there are any hardware manuals for your particular Tandy model? There are a few specification documents on oldskool.org if you search for "3100." That's all I have ever found. http://www.oldskool.org/guides/tvdog/faxback.html Anything on that list marked as "Sensation …

Re: SBVGM (DOS) VGM Player

Do you mind telling me how far the program gets in before it crashes? Are you running SBVGM.EXE or SBVBGM32.EXE? Does it display any information or does it immediately just crash? When it crashes does the computer hard lock or resets? Did prior versions of SBVGM crash this machine? My initial …

Re: SBVGM (DOS) VGM Player

Wondering if anyone can help me - I just tried running SBVGM 1.44 on my Tandy 3100 486 machine, with a Sound Blaster 16 installed. Every time I run the program, it immediately crashes the computer. I've tried a few different .vgz files. I have tried running SBVGM on my Tandy 2500 386, and it works …

PCZSM (DOS) ZSM Player

I recently released PCZSM which plays ZSM files (originally targeted for the Commander X16 platform). The main goal was to just show how to program TexElec's SAAYM sound card. The source is here https://github.com/OPLx/PCZSM and the DOS binaries are here https://github.com/OPLx/PCZSM/releases/tag …
