My MT-32 works perfectly in games etc, but i tried test mode and: RAM Test OK LED Test (push buttons) Worked fine SW Test OK Check VR PUSH 2 ----- I Push 2 (Part) and then: MIDI RECEIVE ERROR

Its a 32MB Matrox G400 DualHead. It works perfectly in both DOS and Win 98 but when I shut down Windows it gives a blue screen with a VXD error. Disabling the driver "solves" the problem but that is no solution as everything reverts to like low resolution, low colours and slow refresh. I googled the …

I have a Compaq Armada 7400. It's a Pentium II 333Mhz, 196MB of RAM and has an ESS AudioDrive 1879 with wavetable synthesizer (excellent for General Midi). Got a DVD drive and floppy drive and PCMCIA 802.11G wireless card. Running Windows 98 and its a great little setup.

I installed these from here: AWE32 Installation Disks - DOS/WIN3.11 The sound card is a CT3600 SB32. When it loaded dos it said it failed to find or initialize the AWE32. Did i use wrong disks ?

Funnily in some games, for example 4D Sports Driving and F1GP (Microprose) which don't support General Midi in Setup instead I selected Roland MT-32 and it worked with the Midi music sounding amazing.

Is a CT3600 really THAT bad ? I heard that with ram added and setup properly it can sound just as good as any AWE 32. The GUS was too much hassle to setup due to too many IRQ conflicts especially with my Matrox Millenium G400 32mb.
