Something built upon SiS 5595 chipset may be good choice for Cyrix, because of chipset optimization especially for Cyrix. I had Gigabyte GA-586SG, but there is also ATX variant of it GA-586SGM and 100MHz supported version GA-5SG100.

Unfortunately the board is probably the same as yours: Intel Classic PCI Ninja with latest bios 1.00.08.AY0 OS is DOS 6.22 + Windows 3.11. However I can test what you want. I also have TL866 programmer so no problem to dump ROM content..

Well, according to wikipedia BX uses PIIX4E while TX uses PIIX4. So almost the same.

You may try unconditional formatting: Copy code to clipboard 1 format a: /u It sometimes helps for disk with badsectors.

PT-2007 is a nice 430tx-based board, but it needs recap and RAM is bit of a problem. Since I want full 64MB - 5V DIMM or 2 more 16MB SIMMs needed. Quite unusual. I would say it needs "low density" 16 MBit SDRAMs (vs more popular 64 MBit), but not 5V (for SDRAMs). 3.3V ones should work just fine. …

This behavior is caused by the very first line of config.sys: Copy code to clipboard 1 DOS=SINGLE Remove it, make it comment (; at the beginning of the line), or move to the subsection if it is really needed.
