I'm using a Number 9 S3 ViRGE in my custom 486(well it's a Cyrix 5x86 100) it seems to suit the system very well and image quality is excellent, I assume the diamond would be similar.

First game I played was way back in 1977/78 it was sea wolf the arcade game. First home game was PONG on a orange and brown binatone machine that came free with our first colour TV!, think that was 1980.

I have found the UMC 486 chips to be very fast, I have a U5S 40, and it's much quicker than AMD DX40 486 or intel DX33. It also runs cooler than both of those. My buddy has a soldered 40mhz UMC on a PCCHIPS VLB board, that one is very swift too.

I totally agree, the emissions stuff is pure crap. for example the only way to get a Mercedes SMART car through the emissions is to do it without the RPM reader on idle rather than at 2500RPM where it should be, yet this little 650cc was designed to be a ECO car! They put out more crap than most …
