Another final solution for heat problems. Is to take a big aluminium chipset heatsink from a socket 478/775 board and glue it to a 486 cpu. Mind, this is a final solution, will only work for Intel dx2-66 and down, and it will sort of ruin the looks of an old vintage cpu. It will not destroy it …

That is a really good controller. I think (not that I remember clearly) that I have managed to transfer 4 to 5 times faster on this, compared to a standard 1991 ide controller. Using this on a 486dx/dx2 and down, should provide higher performance than old IDE drives from that periode. CF cards …

Yeah... That CPU and two different i486dx2-66, one a486dx2-80 and an i486dx-33. I might be doing something wrong, though I will test the other CPU's later. Rught now, it is running good enough, with an i486dx2-66.

Thanks for the heads up.... 😀 I simply can not see the markings for PIN-1. Nor 2 and 3 for that matter. (think I need glasses) The manual does not state anything about what are the right pin's. Is 1 towards the memory modules, or is 1 towards the tag?

If Your cache and Tag jumpers are still where they were in the photo then they are wrong. Both should be 2-3 for JP1 and JP2. You have 256k and 16k Tag.
