It was a BIG disapointment, to know that they included Bluetooth and wifi, instead of SATA on the Pi-3. At least there are some other machines like the Bannana-Pi. Still... Raspberry-Pi with SATA. I would not mind that a bit.

I have had not had any problems running Radeon9600 and 9800, using Dx7. On the other hand, I am not running that many games. Mostly Dx7 and sometimes Dx8 games. When I am in nVidia land, I tend not to go higher than Gf4-ti series. The FX-5xxx series gives me too many problems in Dx7 games. UT99 is …

Finally found one if these that actually works - Palit Daytona Geforce 2 PRO 64MB . In the process of restoring an HP DC7600 SFF computer to a working state. Use gparted live to shrink partitions. Then use xfdisk to set up multiboot and create new partitions. They are both good to have and highly recommended.

Don't go for higher GF cards than the FX-5XXX series when running Win9X. The 6XXX series are for WinXP and higher. It's all driver issues and lack of technology/features. I can't remember wich exact model. What you want to look for is probably an S3 variant. If I recall correct. You need the S3 trio 64 or something like that. There are a lot of discussions here on Vogons, regarding S3 cards and compatibility.

For DOS gaming inside Win9x I'd get an YMF-724 rather than an expensive and bugged AWE32. We may go further. YMF-724/744 + AWE64: good DAC, OPL3, not bad GM under Win9x. The problem - how this will work on practice with DOS stuff, no thorough data about compatibility. As bonus YMF may give better …

It's actually the same with Voodoo cards, as with GUS cards. They are a specific type of hardware, for a specific timeframe of games. None the less. These type of hardware is a piece of history and they are fun to play games on.
