The 486slc I had in 1993. Really sucked at games from 1993 and onwards. On the other hand, it was a really shitty repack of the 80386 cpu.

About that SB/SB-Pro/SB16 feature people have been talking about in this tread. Compatibility in others words. I have an idea for a different aproach. Don't do Sound blaster compatibility. Why not do an ACE aproach, with a real OPL chip? Then people can have an AWE + GUS + real Adlib. How does this …

I guess that they are not really shure what it is worth. Normally I will avoid 3dFX stuff, unless it's the fastest for a specific system. Normally nVidia is faster, yet sometimes 3dFX is better. (SS7 systems)

I would say that the first gold is the better choice, because of a (perhaps) lower price. Gold's are as far as I can see, not that different as to a gigantic, higher price, is excuseable. If the later model is the rarest, it's understandable that it costs more. (Unless the later model, have less …

Think that the first Athlons are just better than the P3's when you use certain systems. Or the chipset are just better for certain cards.

AFAIK, revisions after 1.03 and 1.04 do not support K6+ CPUs (K6-2+ and K6-III+), making the system very unstable and slow. I have no idea why this happens.
