4 of them is 1MB, so it's going to be 1MB to 2MB - the difference: 1MB tops out at 640x480 truecolour, 800x600 64k colour, 1024x768 256 colour 2Mb ups the last two to truecolour and 64k

The fastest "real" 386 is AMD's 386DX40, on a board which has cache and an IIT 4C87DLC-40 FPU for the FPU You could go higher with some 386->486 type hybrids, but if that's the speed target, a 486 would be a better choice to begin with

The drive might be in cable select, the end of a 40 pin CS cable selects slave, the drive will have a jumper block for MA, SL and CS - put the jumper to MA

Of the most common modules, -70 is likely to be FPM and -60 is likely to be EDO There may well be FPM chips that are faster then 70nS (but rare), and pretty sure EDO was never in 70nS specification

From the look of the LED, there may be sleeved resistors on the outer 2 pins, are the sleeves lumpy enough to be hiding them. Between a 5V Intel SX33 and a 5V Intel DX2-66, probably no change at all, the DX2-66 probably applies the 2x multiplier itself and SX vs DX is probably BIOS detect - has FPU

I'm guessing it was designed in the same vein as "640kB will be enough for anyone" to allow some wiggle room when MFM used 17 sectors and RLL used 26 (maybe a few more on some). On the other hand, 255 heads seems overly generous, that would be a 128 platter stack

Windows appears to be able to handle a ZIP created in 7Zip using LZMA in the ZIP - not sure if that only works because 7Zip is installed though

Looks like Geforce 6000 series was the last to be supported in Win98 For AMD/ATI, looks like Catalyst 6.2 is the final Win98 driver release, supporting up to the 9000 series, with beta support for X300 - X850

I nearly got Syquest EZ135 - found a supply of media in a computer fair bargain box, and wandered ebay etc. looking for a drive Also nearly got a Panasonic PD, and also kicked myself for not buying a case with a drive I fancied, a rare dual 5 1/4 - 3 1/2 in a single HH form factor
