How's the ISA bus speed? With a DX2, if it's a DX2-66, then you can either have the ISA at 8.25MHz (/4) or push it to 11MHz (/3) If it's a DX2-50, then the ISA is at 8.33MHz (/3) or heavily overclocked to 12.5MHz at /2. Depends on the card if it will take it, or show much improvement

For a voice modem, with suitable software, you can make an intelligent answering system, multiple boxes - also found a call screener, but it appears to require either LSI or Conexant/Rockwell - the "Ambi" sounds like that modem has the Cirrus/Intel/Ambient chipset

I remember a demo system with this beast... Way, way back, it was a 16 bit ISA disk controller, with a grand total of 128k of cache - battery backed writeback. Unfortunately, they ordered machines without this lightning fast but expensive extra.

I think those passive adapters only work with dual mode mice - the protocols are not compatible, so the mouse has to auto switch.
