I got my MS-6905 Master slot 1 adaptor today. It doesn't seem to work with my Abit BX6 2.0 and Pentium III 933. I've ordered a PIII 1000E to see if it works better with a 100 MHz FSB CPU. I don't really think the control panel in XP is that nice either. It is bad in XP, and worse in Vista/7. I thought the control panel in 2k was a lot easier to use, but it has been a long time since I've used 2k, so I'm guessing it is just my memory playing tricks on me. 😀

What makes you think that machine is too much for her? An i5 isn't that much more expensive than an i3, and you get four cores instead of just two + ht. The R9 270x isn't exactly the most expensive card out there either. I would've personally gone up to a GTX 760, or waited for the GTX 960 or AMDs …
