3DMark01 is kinda overkill for a V2, try 3DMark99. Keep in mind the V2 is from 1998. I just thought it is strange it finishes fine with vsync enabled, but not when it is off. I had a chance to pick up a box full of Zip 100 and LS120 drives for cheap a while back. I passed, but I regret it now. I always pass on stuff I end up needing/wanting two months later… USB drives are very convenient, but I think mechanical media is cooler. 😀

I've only ever seen 3500s with the TV tuner on ebay. When I search now I only see ones with the TV tuner and missing the blue cable/box. Got any links?

I cut up some old floppy cable to make myself an SLI cable and played some Unreal at 1024x768. Maybe not very retro I guess. People got those with their cards back then. 😀

Is it any better when you disable flash and use html5 video on youtube? I never struggled to play flash video on any of my current systems, but I noticed the cpu usage isn't as high as flash when I use html5 video.

Would a Playstation 2 work with this monitor? The PS2 VGA cable (from the linux kit) only works with monitors that supports sync-on-green.

The Xeon E3-1230v3 is a decent cheap alternative to the i7. Similar in performance to an i5 but supports hyperthreading. Not sure what one would use hyperthreading for tho, or how much of a difference it makes.
