Seems to be a US1261CM - fixed voltage, 1.5 and 2.5V 🙁 I'm done with this board for now, it just isn't flexible enough for my taste. Thanks for your help though!

Make sure it is enabled in the mixer - either Windows Volume Control or the MS-DOS based mixer from Creative depending on which OS you are using. Often it was turned off by default on the later cards I think, probably because it can add more noise to the other audio sources. Yep, that's my guess …

Welp, the Mendocino Celeron doesn't boot at all. It's entirely possible that my Slocket is shot, though. With the P3 500 I can switch between 66 and 100 MHz FSB, there's nothing in between. So it seems that I'm stuck with this one for now 🙁

Yeah, it's not the Apollo Pro 133, so no 133 FSB... no biggie. Not a bad idea with the Mendocino Celeron. I have one somewhere. There's no way to overclock the FSB on this board, actually, but I could at least use it to check if the slocket works.

I wish that chart had copper anti-seize on it. You also want a thermal paste that is easy to remove/clean... I never tested/trusted cheap thermal paste because of some socket A/370 cpu coolers from computers/MB's I bought years ago... That was a complete pain in the ass to remove their cpu cooler …

Started to learn how to use a SoundBlaster card from QBasic, because I always wanted to know this since I started programming in the mid-90s. I guess I'll be spending more time with BASIC from now on. Optimized DOS configuration on my main retro machine. Currently installing WfW 3.11...
