And this... I also saw a friend's brand new HP tower at his place and it has uncut markings for expansion slots on the micro atx case but there's no pci/pcie expansion slots on the motherboard... There's also more uncut markings to fit a standard atx power supply but the tower uses a laptap charger …

Decided to install Windows 98SE on my Compaq Presario 5005SR (a.k.a. this thing). Had a bit of a laugh when I saw this while installing the driver for the ESS Allegro sound card (still available on HP's website, BTW):

I always did like the look of the G3 iMacs, especially the slot-load models. Used to have a blueberry iMac that died, a grape iMac that I sold, and a snow slot-loader iMac that I still have in storage.

If you do go ahead and decide to replace the PSU, I'd recommend getting one of these. They're cheaper than most AT PSUs you'll find on eBay.
