depends on the game, but generally I prefer a quality single player campaign too. The main problem is not the multiplayer but the emphasis put on it in recent years I kinda share this opinion a bit. I use SeaMonkey 1.1.19 on my Compaq P100 non-MMX system (actually posting this from that system now! 😎 ). It's impressively slow at times, but it works for light browsing (VOGONS rendering beautifully on it). It should run well enough on a 233MMX with 128MB of RAM.

Are there any flash memory based solutions that can be used with older drive standards? CF cards/adapters are pretty popular as has already been said. They're silent, and they are probably the best performance you can get in terms of storage device options on older systems, at least 286/386 era …
