Re: Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow

I think it's safe to say that for this game to display correctly it requires XP drivers regardless of OS. So in theory it's possible to have the game running correctly on higher end Geforce 7 series cards and Vista but would anyone really want to? Forcing drivers to install on an OS they are not …

Tested a Ti4400 and let it install the default windows X DDM driver dated 21/06/2006 and everything works perfectly. Nvidia don't support Vista for the 4 series so you can't update the drivers. Since an X DDM driver means it is using the old 2000/XP driver model this is probably why it works. So it …

swaaye wrote: Yeah I don't think Audigy 4 has 9x drivers. Vortex cards (A3D) are amazing but they don't support EAX. So really the best way to go is to have a Vortex 2 and another card for EAX games if that matters to you. Vortex 2 cards should have supported up to EAX 2 standards on their last …

Even for ATI cards, possibly Then even who has not those old cards could try to.. mess around :dead: EDIT: geforce 8 series was the first one with unified shaders …

Great video. And indeed SC:PT is still problematic for the shadow buffers thingy I found this though.. does it work? And I find weird they would have mentioned ati cards if they really had been so broken

Wait wait wait. I have already seen this problem. There are intro movies played with windows built-in codecs (instead of say, ubiquitous .bik files) and game hangs. Did you perhaps installed some codecs pack? They are the ruin of the world. For god's sake. Uninstall them and reset DirectShow …

@Bioshock: is High Detail Post Processing the only setting (besides DX) that matters? @legacy of kain: I read there should be unofficial patches .
