Haven't bought much lately, waiting for an AGP Quadro card to arrive (I think GeForce FX 5200 type) and also a GeForce2 GTS.

It's not a plug and play card. You need to manually install it.

Yes they are quite slow. 3000 something rpm and small circumference.

I have no idea about web radio, but Socket A is terrific for Windows 98. One challenge is power draw, it pays to check the lists and pick one that's not to thirsty. Also check out the Duron, they are quite lovely also.

IMO if you're off the Internet, sure why not try XP Vanilla to see what it's like on older machines. You can also have the individual service packs ready to go. Some games and software will not install however and check for SP2 for example.

Too late 😊 Not sure about running Lakka, when you can run RetroArch on the supplied Windows 10. But yes, the review includes a bit of RetroArch.

That should work, but no wavetable header which the Vortex 2 has, and works in DOS.

I've mucked around with a MeeGoPad Compute Stick with the older Z3736F Atom and it ran DOSBox games as well as Munt without any issues. I can see similar tablets selling for around $80 to $100, so I think this is the direction I'm leaning towards. All we would need is a MT-32 themed tablet stand : …

I just finished testing a MeeGoPad (Intel Compute Stick) and was very surprised by the graphics chip. It had zero compatibility issues, although performance of such a device is limited. I've been using Intel HD graphics in quite some machines simply because I do not play games on those.

AFAIK this card doesn't have a MPU401 under DOS.
