Re: Most famous shareware CD series?

Seeing the first picture made me check my current Rus CD collection and I found these. I presume the first one is part of that "famous" collection? Filename rus1.jpg File size 75.96 KiB Views 1496 views Filename rus2.jpg File size 243.55 KiB Views 1496 views

Re: Anyone else collecting cassettes?

Ok so this is weird but I just recently got interested in cassettes again. I used to think they were the worst and CD's were the way to go back in the 90's and 2000's but now years later I recently gave cassettes a second chance and was surprised to find out that the audio quality was actually …

Re: english, the planetary language

Hollywood must play a huge role in this. The whole world watches American movies. It helped me tremendously that they didn't dub the movies/TV-shows here. I remember travelling around Germany in 2009 and I was appalled how badly (even young) people understood day to day English. Obviously you …

Re: Do you make money of your Retro habit?

I usually dump the crap I don't want to a flea market. I get around 200€ ($225) a week, but I still think it's too much effort to price tag everything. Still, it beats shipping a ton of games and what not on a daily basis.

Re: Retro Consoles.... who plays them

I've probably listed these many times, but here goes. I never play or use any of them, except the PS4 for movies when the Samsung BD-player refuses to read the discs. Carinco (Pong-clone) Atari 2600 Atari 2600jr NES (x5) Amiga CD32 Master System (x6) Master System II SNES (x2) Mega Drive 1 (x3) Mega …

Re: "Must Have" Best DOS games

I paid money for the games I bought on GOG. That to me indicates ownership. :) How is it any different than buying a modern game by digital download, especially considering games today do not typically come in a physical box with physical media and docs? Like I said, it depends what we are talking …

Re: "Must Have" Best DOS games

"Must have" indicates one should actually OWN these games. Many late 80's EGA games are nearly impossible to find these days, or the prices for them are absurdly high. Then again, if you bought/downloaded everything from GOG etc. you don't really own anything if you lack the physical media, manual …

Re: AMD XP rig ideas

I would also like to say, that Phenom II is really not period correct if you're into XP games. Hell, I still use Phenom II 805 on a daily basis with Win10 and I can play most recent games with med-high settings! The AMD 64 (X2) would be my choice too with GeForce 6 or 7-series GPU.

H-D would be nice, but the license itself would be around 900€ + the (very old, used) bikes start from 5k€ up makes it a pretty bad choice. 😢

I couldn't help but to resurrect this thread as I've seen some beautiful specimens in this past week. While driving through a residential area I spotted a 60's Valiant, Mustang and a 70's Pontiac Trans Am all parked in the same block. These two just happened to be on the way there. Summer is …
