Grab CheckIt and test your memory. Sounds like one of the memory chips is faulty. 640k isn't very useful when using Windows either.

A few more tried. Got Debian Jessie on the P166MMX rig but have an issue with Xorg. It seems too intelligent for it's own good. Run Xorg -configure and it creates a xorg.conf.new file which I copy it to /etc/X11/ as xorg.conf, run startx and it's out of range. Spent a few hours editing xorg.conf but …

The Win3.1 to Win3.11 is just half a dozen core file replacements. There is no network support involved. You can get the files from http://www.conradshome.com/win31/ File name is WW0981UD.EXE

NT 3.51 and NT 4 can ue PS/2 mice. Even NT 3.1 can.

For a start it's Windows for Workgroups 3.11 The normal WfW 3.11 wasn't designed to upgrade Windows 3.1/3.11. There was an upgrade package , which was a full Wfw 3.11 release with the first disk altered, for that. It was called Windows for Workgroups Add-On. Either remove your current win3.1 setup …

Personal Netware was only really for peer to peer not really intended to integrate into a Netware network at all. NETBios is far more efficient.
